Some people socialize at their favorite watering hole, DunnLoring-Merrifield Rotary hangs out at George Mason University!  On a rainy Tuesday evening on April 25, 2017 members of the Rotary toured the new CHHS academic building scheduled to open in December 2017.  The state-of-the-art Peterson Family Health Science Hall will be home to the College of Health and Human Services.  A true construction site, amidst flats of drywall waiting to be hung, cabling waiting to be run and fixtures to be installed, we saw where and nurses, food scientists, health informaticists, Social Workers and Rehab specialists and yes researchers and administrators are going to be trained.  Our GMU Construction tour guide (Chris) and CHHS Dir. of Development (Laura Walsh) gave us a birds eye view of Peterson Hall under construction and the explained the many specialized, technologically advanced learning and research spaces.  We navigated the mud field, construction materials and heavy equipment to see this amazing new building's classrooms, offices, labs and demonstration kitchens.  Our take....The next generation of the health care workforce studying at GMU has an awesome new home under construction. As we tiptoed and slipped out way out of the Mason mud field, and Peterson Hall construction site, our thoughts turned to December...can't wait for the Grand Opening!
